The Ironwood Sculpture for Fire™ received a prestigious Vesta award finalist for best new Outdoor Product. firegear utilizes both the talents of very skilled artists and the medium of steel to create the most realistic, highly detailed and natural looking “gas logs” possible. As each Ironwood™ is hand crafted one at a time not only can the size and shape be tailored to each installation, but each Ironwood™ can be embellished with personal details, details ranging from the number of pinecones to a personalized monogram. Using steel as a medium not only allows for much more delicate detail but also provides a durability not found in other materials. The characteristics of steel as a medium, delicate details, client design input, durability and each sculpture is an original work of art. These are all innovations in themselves that set this product in a class of its own.
Each Ironwood™ is built one at a time. The process is started with the client choosing the style of “Feature” logs to be used in the set. At this time the size of the set is determined along with small details such as leaves and pinecones. The feature logs are roughed out in size and shape to layout the look of the set. Smaller logs and features are then roughed in to fill out the set, bark details are added to the logs, pinecones are constructed (or leaves are added) twigs and pine needles are crafted. All of these components are assembled into the final set. The Ironwood Sculpture for Fire™ is then ready to be placed on top of the firestar™ burner. The process of creating an Ironwood™ on average takes four to five weeks from the time the order is received to the time the sculpture is ready for shipping. The creation of the Ironwood™ utilizes many metal fabrications tools including welders, saws, torches and plasma torches.
WARRANTY:
Each Ironwood™ has a natural patina that is built up during the crafting of each piece. Guaranteed to rust with age. Expected Life Span 30 + years. The Fire Star features a five year warranty.
